As I am approaching the voting age of 18, and will therefore be able to vote at the next election, I am starting to wonder who to vote for. Sure - there's alot of time between now and then, but surely one party must tickle my fancy?
Being the kinda eccentric guy I am, I used to be an avid Monster Raving Loony Party fan, and also a Conservative Party fanatic. Whilst the MRLP is, is being a supporter of the Conservative Party as burlesque as it seems to many who question my views?
Recently, David Cameron, the newly-elected leader of the Conservative Party has come under alot of 'fire' over his past; he alledgedly took Cannabis, a 'Class A' drug whilst he was still at Eton. Secondly, he used to be on a board of directors of a company in charge of a chain of bars and pubs - where, according to Jeremy Paxman, one can buy a jug of 'Pink Pussy' for just £8. Is this the man we really want to run our glorious country? I do think that he has a fair chance of winning, as does a certain person in Windsor:
£200,000 bet on Cameron is largest ever
from 'The Scotsman':
"Mr Cameron's front-runner status was underlined by a £200,000 bet on him being named leader next Tuesday, said by bookmaker William Hill to be the largest political wager ever taken. At odds of just 25-1 on, the mystery punter, who placed the bet at a Windsor shop, stands to win just £8,000 if he is proved right. William Hill cut the odds on a Cameron victory even further, to 66-1 on, after taking the bet, compared with 14-1 against for former front-runner Mr Davis to win."
To me, this shows the certainty of the British Public, even though the odds were only initially 25-1, and possible winnings only £8000, that David Cameron will win the forthcoming elections. It is this attitude that I believe has encouraged Mr. Cameron to stay in politics contrary to the actions of certain homosexual and alcoholic Liberal Democrats who shall remain nameless who were forced out of 'power' after 'serious alligations' were made against them. It is also this attidude that has made me a strong 'pro' conservative, as people believe in him. He doesn't claim to like the 'Arctic Monkeys', although he has claimed to like Bob Dylan :D, and furthermore, I believe that contrary to his private past, I believe that he will be what makes Great Britain great.
Was it the Queen that bet that money on David Cameron? We all know she's up for a 'flutter'. Was it a Corgi, or was it just a homosexual, alcoholic Liberal Democrat?

Mac Vs PC
Contrary to my Windows 'heritage', I am considering buying a MAC Computer. My Dad has always been a huge fan, so when he got his Mac G5 summer last year, I was quite jealous of its reliability and speed at which it processes information. My love for Mac computers has since augmented, as one of my music teachers, Adrian Bawtree, recently recorded me on his Mac Laptop for my GCSE music performance. To be honest, I was stunned at the quality of the recording. Using GarageBand, he'd recorded me live, and with a touch of a button, had exported the file as an MP3. It struck me at how user-friendly the Mac OSX was, and how aesthetically-pleasing the user interface is. However, it seems that many others share the same view, namely the opposition, Microsoft.
On January the 30th, 2007, Microsoft released its latest toy - Windows Vista. It struck me last night as I was talking to one of my friends, at how similar they both appear. But seeming as I would like to buy one for when I go to Lancing College next year, as the first ever organ scholar, which one should I consider?
Recently, I have been 'let down' quite alot by my Windows computers; I am currently writing this blog on a fairly new Toshiba Laptop, which has frozen about 5 times in the amount of time it has taken to write everything above this point. My other computer finds itself in the massive shell of a server case. However, that is currently being fixed after it not being able to re-boot. Should I pay to get them fixed, or just get a Mac? After all, me being cautious about every penny I spend, i'd be looking for a wise investment, and there certainly is a second-hand market for Mac Computers due to their speed and design. This is in comparison to PCs, which after one year, are riddled with viruses, look as pretty as Miss McMahon (my dreadful maths teacher), and are only of scrap value. I'll get a Mac; not only do the above figures add up, but I like products judging by the manufacturing company e.g. I hate Airbus aircraft because they're French, so I prefer the American Boeings who don't leech so much off of governing bodies. Similarly, I prefer Macs to PCs because of this. I know that Bill Gates has several charities... blah blah blah... but he only has that money because he's a harsh businessman - for instance - on Microsoft's 'Virtual Earth', it claims that the company and its address of Apple Computers, doesn't exist! Surely they're scared of the competition? Damn Right.
